Thanks to everyone who joined us for our virtual AGM. After a great, informative evening of all things trails, we’re pleased to announce our new Board and release vote results.
If 2020 was a busy year, 2021 is set to be even more so. Luckily however, we have 3 fantastic new Board members, with a variety of strong skills and an abundance of experience, to join forces and get behind our amazing trail network.
With 6 seats open, and 6 nominations – 3 returning members, and 3 new – we didn’t require a vote, with everyone who presented themselves, successfully securing a seat on the Board for 2* years.
MEET OUR NEW BOARD MEMBERS:
Jacquie Arling: Urban and Community Planner with experience in public engagement, strategic planning, and land use planning. As an active hiker, x-country skier, and year round biker, Jacquie hopes to use her professional experience and skills to assist in the preservation and enhancement of the trails network.
Megan Kelly: Previously trail crew member with Island Lake Lodge, now trail crew and ski patrol at FAR. Member of Search and Rescue, avid trail user (hiker, biker, runner, Nordic skier).
Robin Siggers: Currently the Operations Manager at FAR and has been involved in development of the FAR Bike Park and FAR Nordic Ski product. Avid Mountain biker and ski tourer. B.O.D. member for the Canadian Avalanche Assoc. Has the free time, perspective and the experience to assist the FTA Board achieve its many goals and mandate of sustaining and improving the Fernie Trail Network.
RETURNING BOARD MEMBERS:
Wade Hawkins: Secretary + Chair of Trail Inventory
Abi Moore: Chair of Communications
Krista Turcasso: Chair (*1 year)
BYLAWS VOTE RESULTS:
For those of you attended, and voted, we are pleased to announce that the proposed amended Bylaws, passed.
The final results were 41 in favour, 1 against. Thank you for taking the time to vote.
